 | Friday, June 14th, 2013: Ducks Blank Dutch Ovens, Bernardo Wins The Dutch Ovens manager was philosophical after his team was shut out by the Long Island Ducks 5-0. "It was just one of those games, shake it off and do better next time," he said. Michael Bernardo blanked them on 2 hits with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. "I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs. They were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Bernardo said. "I set them up pretty good, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one." Checking out his stats for the season, Bernardo has notched 5 wins and 5 losses in 15 starts, 3.79 ERA and struck out 44 batters in 99.2 innings. |
