 | Saturday, June 1st, 2013: Pineda Tosses Shutout Against Beulaville The Beulaville Miners were almost helpless today in their 9-0 loss to DeBois County hurler Ferdinand Pineda. He kept them confused the entire ballgame and spun a 5-hit shutout. The Beulaville manager said in the postgame interview, "Tip your hat to Pineda. He kept us off balance all night." Pineda said, "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play. It was just one of those games that things went my way." He had 4 walks and 8 strikeouts in a strong performance. So far this season Pineda has compiled a 4-4 record with a 2.12 ERA. |
