 | Thursday, June 6th, 2013: Sharp Spins Shutout Caprica starter Steve Sharp really did a number on the Rifles today, shutting them out 4-0 on 2 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 3 walks and had 6 strikeouts. In his postgame comments, the Springfield manager said, "We didn't have good at-bats. I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting... seeing as our team has a bunch of pretty good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Steve... he did an outstanding job today." Up to now Sharp has recorded a record of 6-4. In 12 starts he has fanned 29 batters in 80 innings with a 2.81 ERA. |
