| Breaking News | | Friday, August 30th, 2013: Great Year Gets Perez SL2 A Outstanding Hitter Award Isaac Perez, Caprica's outstanding first baseman, took home the Sub League 2 A Outstanding Hitter Award for 2013.
This season he put up some strong stats, including a .352 batting average and a .405 on-base percentage. In 120 games he piled up 168 hits, 27 doubles, 3 triples, 3 home runs, 55 RBIs and scored 59 times. | | Saturday, August 10th, 2013: Perez's Hit Streak Over The Caprica Buccaners won the game 8-4 over the Springfield Rifles. At the same time the Rifles mound corps did what no other team could do. They stopped the 28-game hitting streak of Buccaners first baseman Isaac Perez. But that was still not enough to win the game.
"Our pitchers may have focused a bit too much on stopping Perez," the Springfield manager commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Buccaners have other hitters and they did their job today."
In his stats this season, Perez has posted a batting average of .352 with 168 hits in 477 at-bats, 3 home runs and 55 RBIs. He has also scored 59 runs, walked 43 times and compiled a .405 OBP. | | Monday, August 5th, 2013: Perez Hits in 25 Consecutive Games The Buccaners won the game today, but you would have been hard pressed to find anyone talking about it. The focus seemed to be on first baseman Isaac Perez extending his hitting streak to 25 games by going 1-for-5 in the game.
"Sure we are happy that we won, but seeing Isaac extend his streak was also special," said a jubilant Caprica manager. "He's a special player who is capable of doing some amazing things at the plate."
For the record, the Buccaners defeated the Sharon Beauties 9-4 at Ballpark of Soldotna. I. Perez grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, flied out in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
This season Perez is batting .350 with 50 RBIs, 56 runs scored and 2 home runs. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 59-61, .492 PCT | | Position in Division | 4th, 13.0 GB | | Record at home | 24-36, .400 PCT | | Record on the road | 35-25, .583 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 7-5, .583 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 18-20, .474 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 18-17, .514 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 41-44, .482 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 7-3, .700 PCT | | Record in April | 15-13, .536 PCT | | Record in May | 14-15, .483 PCT | | Record in June | 10-15, .400 PCT | | Record in July | 13-16, .448 PCT | | Record in August | 7-2, .778 PCT |
