| Breaking News | | Monday, May 12th, 2014: Red-Hot Fenster SL1 Player of the Week The Sub League 1 made it official today: Lawrence Fenster is the Player of the Week.
He really glistened on the diamond this week with a .500 average to take home the honor. The Tacoma left fielder went 11-22, drove in 7 runs, scored 3 times and hit no home runs.
On the season, Fenster is batting .377 with 1 home run and 23 RBIs. He has played in 35 games. | | Monday, May 5th, 2014: Maloney Guns Down Regina Roland Maloney was downright nasty in pitching a 4-0 shutout against Regina. His splitter was diving, his slider was breaking and the Monologues were swinging and looking bad. In the solid 4-hit shutout the Titans hurler chalked up 6 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
"As the game went on, he got stronger," his manager said. "I thought he really turned it up a notch in the eighth and ninth and probably threw his best breaking balls in those two innings. They put a lot of balls in play early in the count because he was throwing strikes."
So far this season Maloney has 4 wins and 2 losses and a 3.18 ERA. | | Monday, May 5th, 2014: Barrage of Hits Gets Fenster SL1 Award So far in his young career, Lawrence Fenster has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Sub League 1 in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts.
The 19-year-old Tacoma Titans left fielder hit at a torrid .435 clip as he collected 10 hits in 23 at-bats, 1 home run, 3 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
This season Fenster is swinging the bat at a .373 pace. He has hit 1 home run and scored 12 times, while driving in 18.
