| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, May 14th, 2014: Placencia Injured, out of Lineup
Ronald Placencia of the Seattle Monarchs was injured in today's game against Brooklyn and had to be helped off the field by the trainers. The initial diagnosis is a finger blister and he is expected to be out for up to 1-2 weeks. It happened while Placencia was throwing a pitch. "It hurt a lot, to be honest. I just hope it heals soon and I can get back on the field."
Placencia has a 5-1 season record so far. In 9 starts, he has fanned 68 batters in 54.1 innings with a 2.98 ERA. |
 | Monday, May 12th, 2014: Lutz Punishes AL Pitchers This Week
At the age of 27, Dong Lutz might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Seattle first baseman put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days collecting the Adams League Player of the Week Award.
He racked up 12 hits in 25 at-bats, 2 home runs and 9 RBIs last week in 6 games.
Thus far this season Lutz is hitting .387 with 12 home runs, 38 RBIs and 31 runs scored. He has 55 hits in 142 at-bats and has played in 36 games. |

There's nothing like being in the prime of your baseball career -- and playing like it. Just ask Dong Lutz, the Seattle first baseman, who swung a sweet bat all week to not only aid his team, but also pick up the Adams League Player of the Week honors.
