Tuesday, May 13th, 2014: Banton Gets 5 Hits
Today the Armadillos downed the Huskers 16-4 as Sean Banton sprayed hits all over Old League Park in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with 5 hits in 5 at-bats.

The Houston left fielder said to reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today and I didn't miss any of them."

S. Banton singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 8th and walked in a run in the 9th.

A trade between Los Angeles and Hickory was made official this morning. The Scorpions have sent 23-year old first baseman Federico Soriano and 27-year old reliever John Stalvey to the Huskers in exchange for 28-year old starting pitcher Alberto Carballo, 33-year old first baseman Richard Peel, a 3rd round draft pick and a 4th round draft pick.

Wednesday, April 30th, 2014: Jacobs Socks it to Huskers, Cracks 5 Hits
Today at Old League Park John Jacobs put on a hitting clinic as the Brooklyn right fielder sprayed hits all over the ballpark by lashing Hickory pitching for 5 hits in 7 at-bats. But the Huskers didn't really seem to care, they won the game 11-10.

He told BNN reporters after the game that he just hit it where they pitched it. "Too often I try to pull the ball too much. Today I just went with the pitch. It's great to get 5 hits, but it would have been nicer to win the ballgame. too."

J. Jacobs singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off A. Begley in the 8th, hit a two-run single in the 9th, grounded out in the 11th and hit a two-run home run off D. Castanon in the 13th.

This season Jacobs has delivered 20 hits in 66 at-bats for a .303 average with 5 home runs. He is getting on base at a .343 clip and his totals also include 11 RBIs and 9 runs scored. This year Jacobs has played in 22 games.
