Breaking News | | Sunday, May 11th, 2014: Pineda at His Best, Whips Scorpions Ferdinand Pineda came out firing strikes and when the game ended, the Dans hurler had struck out 7 in leading Danville over the Los Angeles Scorpions 12-0. Pineda allowed just 3 hits in the ballgame.

After the doctor informed the Los Angeles Scorpions manager that Carballo was expected to miss 5 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the starting pitcher could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.
