Tuesday, May 13th, 2014: Banton Gets 5 Hits
Today the Armadillos downed the Huskers 16-4 as Sean Banton sprayed hits all over Old League Park in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with 5 hits in 5 at-bats.

The Houston left fielder said to reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today and I didn't miss any of them."

S. Banton singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 8th and walked in a run in the 9th.

Banton is hitting .331 this year with 1 home run, 12 RBIs and 17 runs scored. He has 49 hits in 148 at-bats, 16 walks and a .405 on-base percentage. Banton has played in 37 games.
Thursday, May 1st, 2014: AL Selects Rookie Star of the Month
A boyish Preston Giorgi emerged as the latest Adams League Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Houston deserved the honor, batting .236 with 2 home runs and 11 runs batted in. Is the month of April a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Giorgi enjoy the limelight.
