| Breaking News |  | Sunday, July 21st, 2013: Albacete Slams 6 Hits for Quincy Hernando Albacete really sizzled at the plate today. In a game played at Ballpark of Avon, the Quincy shortstop blistered the Anchorage Rowdies for 6 hits in 6 at-bats to pace his club to a 11-6 victory.
"Albacete was too tough to get out today," the Rowdies skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
H. Albacete hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off R. Padua in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th.
This year Albacete is batting .341 with 28 hits and 2 home runs. He has scored 12 times and has batted in 17 runs. |  | Sunday, July 7th, 2013: Kaler Fires Shutout in Dutch Ovens Win In an excellent mound performance, Kendrick Kaler of the Amsterdam Dutch Ovens whitewashed the Anchorage Rowdies 4-0 on a 5-hitter.
He said after the game, "I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches."
The Anchorage manager said, "We just didn't swing the bats well today. Kaler did a good job keeping us guessing."
In all, the Amsterdam hurler rang up 4 strikeouts and no walks in the shutout win.
In 2013, Kaler has chalked up 10 wins and 2 losses in 16 starts with 57 strikeouts in 117 innings and a 3.00 ERA. |  | Tuesday, June 25th, 2013: Joe Unknown Injured, Out for Season Joe Unknown has to call it a season. The Anchorage Rowdies right fielder sustained a season-ending injury against the Akron Beacons and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Unknown was injured while throwing the ball. His doctors diagnosed it as a herniated disc and stated that he would not be able to play for 12 months.
