Akron's Lewis Leiser brought his "A game" to the park, shutting down and shutting out the Olympia Oligarchs 2-0. He racked up 3 strikeouts, surrendered 4 hits and issued 4 walks on his way to the victory.
Leiser has gone 7-7 this season with an ERA of 3.80 and 64 strikeouts in 147 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .282 against him.

 | Monday, July 1st, 2013: SL1's Premier Starter is Maloney
Roland Maloney has made fans throughout SDMB Double A take notice over the past month with an exceptional 4-0 record. No pitcher in the Sub League 1 threw better in June, garnering him the Pitcher of the Month award today.
In 5 starts Maloney compiled a 0.91 ERA, putting up a 4-0 record, striking out 33 and tossing 39.2 innings.
Currently Maloney has a 10-4 won-lost record in 17 starts with a 2.88 ERA. He also has 84 strikeouts in 112.2 innings.
