Jerome Guerra of the Long Island Ducks had a fine season this year and today he accepted the AA Outstanding Hitter Award for 2013.
The 30-year-old first baseman put up a .281 average and a .397 on-base percentage, piling up 122 hits, 15 doubles, no triples, 20 home runs, 70 RBIs and 77 runs scored.

| Monday, August 5th, 2013: Red-Hot Rampage Reaps SL1 Reward
26-year-old Adrian Labarbera sent shock waves through SDMB Double A last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Sub League 1 Player of the Week Award.
A newcomer to the league, Labarbera made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .423 average, 11 hits in 26 at-bats, 1 home run and 3 RBI.
Where the Long Island Ducks catcher goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Labarbera certainly made his mark last week.
Labarbera is swinging at a .256 pace on the year with 7 home runs, 36 RBIs and 65 runs scored. He has played in 100 games.

| Sunday, July 28th, 2013: George Spaeth Injured, Out for Season
George Spaeth will soon find out from his doctors if his season will continue. The first diagnosis was not too positive and stated the Long Island starting pitcher could miss the remainder of the year. Spaeth was injured while throwing a pitch in the Ducks-Oligarchs clash at Cloudbursts Ballpark recently. Doctors said he has a ruptured tricep tendon and would be out a minimum of 8 months.
This year Spaeth has fanned 41 in 87.2 innings and collected a 3-9 record with a 5.24 ERA.
