It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Sub League 2, but last week Britt Moroney of the Flatbush Pups reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week.
Moroney rocked opposing pitching for a .500 average (15-30), no home runs and 9 RBIs to come away with the award.
Moroney on the season is batting .319 with 4 home runs. His totals include 53 RBIs and 78 runs scored. He has played in 110 games.

 | Friday, July 26th, 2013: Peavey Smacks 5 Hits for Rumrunners
It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Albert Peavey. It was a very special day, one that many players never experience. But he did. Peavey went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Flatbush pitching.
When the dust settled on the diamond at Browns Ballpark, he had a career 5-5 day and something he will long remember. And the Moose Jaw Rumrunners had a 8-7 victory over the Pups.
"Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview.
A. Peavey singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off J. Fort in the 9th.
Thus far this year Peavey has hit .285 with 13 home runs and 61 RBIs.

 | Monday, July 1st, 2013: Sub League 2 #1 Hurler is Monte
Over the past month Antonio Monte has turned quite a few heads. He's young, talented and able to pitch with the established arms in the Sub League 2. He proved all that and now he's been named June's Pitcher of the Month.
The rookie for the Flatbush Pups posted 3-1 mark and a 2.59 ERA. In 7 starts he tossed 41.2 innings, permitted 40 hits and fanned 25 batters.
To date this year, Monte shows a 6-7 record, 21 starts, 115.2 innings, 54 strikeouts and a 4.67 ERA.
