| Breaking News | | Saturday, August 10th, 2013: Barrientos Goes 5-5 Against Moose Jaw Players get multi-hit games all the time. But a 5-hit game only comes around once in a blue moon. It happened at Fissures Ballpark when Antoine Barrientos of Jersey City scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Moose Jaw Rumrunners.
He walloped 5 hits in 5 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Fissures get by the Rumrunners 12-4.
In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the right fielder of the Fissures exclaimed, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens... good things happen... like 5-5. I could get used to a lot of days like this one."
A. Barrientos tripled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
So far in 2013 Barrientos has hit .287 with 6 home runs and 40 RBIs. He has played in 76 games and scored 46 times. | | Tuesday, July 30th, 2013: Unknown Suffers Career-Ending Injury Moose Jaw starting pitcher Joe Unknown sustained a torn back muscle throwing a pitch in yesterday's game against the Titanics. It was only later, at the local hospital, that the severity of the injury became apparent. While the Rumrunners team doctor was confident Unknown would make at least a partial recovery, he was less optimistic about his future in baseball. "Professional ballplayers need to be in peak physical condition. Unfortunately, Joe will be affected by this injury for the rest of his life."
