Sunday, July 7th, 2013: Mammoths Pitching Ravaged by Jaquez
It was a sensational day at the plate for Jorge Jaquez as he led the charge to a 8-7 win over the Mammoths.

The Nyack third baseman was pure misery for the Marietta pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.

The manager for the Mammoths told BNN reporters after the game, "Jaquez put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."

J. Jaquez singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off M. Born in the 8th.

This season Jaquez has banged out 110 hits in 356 at-bats for a .309 average with 6 home runs. He is getting on base at a .367 pace and his totals also include 53 RBIs and 47 runs scored.
Monday, June 10th, 2013: This Week's Star Player is Zavala
The #1 hitter in the Sub League 1 was Nyack shortstop Daron Zavala. He was selected the Player of the Week.

During the week Zavala banged out a .474 batting average (9-19), 1 home run, 6 runs batted in and scored 6 runs.

Zavala is hitting .300 this season with 3 home runs, 28 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has 66 hits in 220 at-bats.
Saturday, June 8th, 2013: Ewalt Slams 5 Hits for Buffalo
5 hits in a game doesn't happen every day. Buffalo's Brandon Ewalt had a very special day against the Rocklands when everything came together for him and he did just that -- collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats -- and led the Buffalo Ironsides to a 11-0 win at Ironsides Stadium.

"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Ewalt said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em."

B. Ewalt singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off G. Earles in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and doubled in the 9th.

Ewalt is batting .326 this season in 57 games with 1 home run, 24 RBIs and 20 runs scored. He has 78 hits in 239 at-bats.
