Henry Johnson of the Kent Kings proved that you can step out of the shadows and onto the stage if you've got the talent and the drive to hone your skills. Hard work, long hours and a tireless resolve paid off for him today in the form of the Sub League 1 A Outstanding Hitter Award.
Johnson hit for a .208 average while collecting 85 hits, 25 doubles, 6 triples, 19 home runs, 55 RBIs and scoring 95 times.

| Thursday, August 29th, 2013: Top Pitcher Trophy Won by Kings Cruz
He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season Jaime Cruz performed like a veteran on the hill for the Kent Kings and walked away with the Sub League 1 A Outstanding Pitcher Award in the process.
The 23-year-old Kings star fashioned a 16-7 won-loss record in 2013 with a 2.96 ERA. In 176.1 innings of work and 26 starts, Cruz struck out 114 while giving up 154 hits and 61 walks. He held opposing batters to a .235 average.

 | Friday, August 16th, 2013: Gold Sox Win Round 1
It was a storybook year for the Avon Gold Sox as they closed out a 3-1 series win over the Kent Kings to claim the 2013 Round 1. They wrapped it up with a 8-5 victory to cap an incredible season and brought home their 1st championship.
The Gold Sox manager gave his view of the series, "We had a lot of things going for us, offense and defense doing it at the right time. That's what it takes to win a Round 1."
"We're disappointed we lost, but we're also very proud of what we did all year," said the Kings manager. "They played better baseball than us and they beat us."
During the Sub League 2 regular season Avon put up a 72-48 record and finished first.
