| Breaking News | | Monday, August 5th, 2013: Durango's Martin Sidelined for Season Sterling Martin will soon find out from his doctors if his season will continue. The first diagnosis was not too positive and stated the Durango starting pitcher could miss the remainder of the year. Martin was injured while throwing a pitch in the Crawdads-Rifles clash at Crawdads Ballpark recently. Doctors said he has a torn bicep muscle and would be out a minimum of 8 months.
So far in 24 starts this season, Martin has recorded 5 wins and sustained 12 losses. He has pitched 121.2 innings, yielded 162 hits, fanned 38 and has a 6.73 ERA. | | Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013: Red-Hot Diez Scorches Crawdads Augustine Diez exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Ballpark of Soldotna. The Caprica left fielder had a field day in the 12-6 triumph over the Durango Crawdads, finishing with a 5-5 day and a spot in the league record book.
"My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."
Well, Diez must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat.
A. Diez singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, walked in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
In the 2013 campaign Diez has hit at a .289 clip with 17 RBIs, 2 home runs and 27 runs scored. | | Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013: Perez Hitless, Streak Ends at 25 Isaac Perez had his hitting streak snapped at 25 games today during a 12-6 Caprica win over the Durango Crawdads at Ballpark of Soldotna. The 19-year-old first baseman was hitless in 4 at-bats.
