| Breaking News | | Thursday, August 1st, 2013: July's Best SL2 Hurler is Panek
The Sub League 2 announced the winner of the Pitcher of the Month Award. It went to bullpen ace Harry Panek of Tennessee for his outstanding work on the mound.
During the month, the Tossed Salads star stood out with no saves in no save opportunities, a 1.87 ERA and 5 wins and 2 losses. In 53 innings he struck out 31 and gave up 51 hits and 21 walks.
Taking a look at his season stats for 2013, Panek has made no relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 12-9 won-lost mark with a 4.56 ERA. In pitching 160 innings, he has totaled 86 strikeouts and 75 walks.

 | Wednesday, July 31st, 2013: Perez Hits in 20 Straight Games
"Things went well for me today. I got 3 hits and the streak is up to 20 games. But we didn't win the game. As you all know, baseball is not about personal accomplishments, its about winning." Those words were spoken by Isaac Perez of the Caprica Buccaners to BNN after his club dropped a 5-4 decision to Tennessee.
I. Perez walked in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
Perez on the season is hitting .352 with 2 home runs. His stats include 45 RBIs and 56 runs scored.

| Monday, July 22nd, 2013: Sub League 2 Names Top Player
20-year-old John Calvert made a few Tennessee headlines during this past week as the rookie shortstop proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Sub League 2 officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort.
He cracked 13 hits in 29 at-bats to put up a .448 average. Calvert collected 1 home run, 4 RBIs and scored 5 runs.
In the 2013 season Calvert is batting .318 with 114 hits and 6 home runs. He has scored 60 times and batted in 57.
