| Breaking News | | Thursday, August 29th, 2013: Sub League 2 Best Pitcher Chosen High-pressure game situations don't seem to affect William Warren, the bullpen ace of the Sharon Beauties. This season he was regularly put to the test and regularly made quick work of the opposition. In recognition of his dominance, the Sub League 2 today presented the 2013 A Outstanding Pitcher Award to him.
Warren appeared in 46 games and converted 29 saves in 33 save opportunities. The Beauties star had a 5-5 mark with a 3.33 ERA. He also chalked up 30 strikeouts and walked 20 in 51.1 innings of work. | | Monday, August 5th, 2013: Perez Hits in 25 Consecutive Games The Buccaners won the game today, but you would have been hard pressed to find anyone talking about it. The focus seemed to be on first baseman Isaac Perez extending his hitting streak to 25 games by going 1-for-5 in the game.
"Sure we are happy that we won, but seeing Isaac extend his streak was also special," said a jubilant Caprica manager. "He's a special player who is capable of doing some amazing things at the plate."
For the record, the Buccaners defeated the Sharon Beauties 9-4 at Ballpark of Soldotna. I. Perez grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, flied out in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
This season Perez is batting .350 with 50 RBIs, 56 runs scored and 2 home runs. | | Monday, August 5th, 2013: SL2 Star of the Week Named So far in his young career, George Hill has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Sub League 2 in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts.
