| Breaking News |  | Tuesday, May 13th, 2014: Sternwheelers Quijada Suffers Injury It took the River Cities team doctor a while to realize it, but third baseman Ronald Quijada won't simply play through a fractured eye socket after he got hurt colliding with a player at a base in today's Scorpions-Sternwheelers game. At first, it looked like Quijada might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 2 months.
So far this season Quijada is batting .302 with 9 home runs, 26 RBIs and 25 runs scored. He has 45 hits in 149 at-bats, 23 walks and a .393 OBP. Quijada has played in 37 games. |  | Monday, May 12th, 2014: Quijada of River Cities Crowned Best Player The Zotti League has selected its Player of the Week. The honor went to Ronald Quijada, third baseman of the River Cities Sternwheelers.
In a standout performance, he lit up the league with a .364 average to win the award. Quijada went 8-22 for the week, totaled 4 home runs with 9 RBIs and scored 9 times.
This season Quijada is batting .293 with 43 hits and 9 home runs. He has scored 24 times and has 26 runs batted in. |  | Monday, May 5th, 2014: Odum Chosen #1 Player His hard work and hustle paid off this week. The hard-working and hard-playing Gerald Odum was rewarded with the Zotti League Player of the Week honors.
