It seemed that Walla Walla shortstop Lincoln Rossetti could do no wrong as the Federal Duck kayoed the Scorpions 7-4 today as he rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Los Angeles pitchers couldn't get him out as Rossetti seemed to know which pitches they were throwing.
"I think the Federal Duck were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Los Angeles fan.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," exclaimed the jubilant Rossetti in the postgame press interview.
L. Rossetti doubled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off J. Shuttleworth in the 2nd, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off B. Riojas in the 8th.
Rossetti currently has a .277 batting average with 23 hits, 2 homers, 9 RBIs, 14 runs scored and a .365 OBP. |
 | Thursday, May 1st, 2014: James Banks Captures Rookie of Month
In April, James Banks put up award-winning numbers and came away with the Rookie of the Month award in the Zotti League.
Last month the 28-year-old Walla Walla center fielder played in 27 games and hit .276 with 2 doubles, no triples and 6 home runs. Banks also scored 15 times and drove in 13 runs.

Seasoned by several years of professional experience, 33-year-old Christopher Moss put together a solid offensive month for Walla Walla and was crowned April's top batter in the Zotti League.
He batted .302 with 8 home runs, 26 RBIs and 24 runs scored.
